The indicator for water service reliability has been developed based on the total period of water availability in a given water supply system, over a period of time. Accordingly, the service reliability indicator is categorized as follows:
Good: Supply Hours per day is 12 or more.
Moderate: Supply Hours per day is between 6 and 12.
Severe: Supply Hours per day is between 0 and 6.
No Data: No records under the data sub-field.
Uses and utilization of the Dashboard
This Dashboard displays the grouping of CBOs according to the varying levels of service provision from their WS systems.
This Dashboard enables the relevant and / or responsible agency to get a clear perception and the opportunity to identify, the CBOs with WS systems needing immediate and urgent intervention, in improving the offered service levels, through advice and other required inputs in order to improve the situation.
Possible interventions could be, checking the source(s) and identifying potential for improvements in yields, rechecking the hydraulics to identify faults if there are any, checking the system for losses due to leakages and illegal tapping, investigating potential for incorporating new supplementary sources of water to the system.
Location Data
When an office is available, its location will be displayed as the location of the particular CBO. If not, either the approximate center of the service area or the main reservoir location will be displayed as the CBO location.
Limitations
No records under the Data Field "Level of Customer Service" would result in a CBO being categorized under "No Data," irrespective of the service level it offers.
